Ensuring the future viability of our environment means treating it with respect in the present. At Think!, we are not merely paying lip service to treating our natural resources in a way that is sustainable and taking corporate responsibility; for us, these are deeply held beliefs which we have practised for over 30 years. Short transport distances, natural materials wherever this does not compromise the quality, the fair manufacture of our shoes in Europe by hand as well as eco-friendly individual processing steps contribute to us not taking more out of the environment than we can give back.
Made in Europe
Our company's source of inspiration and think-tank is our head office in Kopfing, Upper Austria. This is where our Think! shoes are designed. They are manufactured exclusively in Europe – by the highly-qualified leather craftspersons who work at our partner companies in Bosnia, Italy, Hungary and Romania. We have collaborated with all of these businesses for many years.
Materials from Europe
When we select the materials for our shoes, our main focus is on finding natural, sustainable raw materials, from the leather to the soles, from the lining to the decorative parts. We use only high-quality materials that are 100% made in Europe.
Handmade
Traditional crafts, such as ours, need experience to survive, the experience of craftspeople who love what they do and make every product unique with their skills and expertise. We have always relied on their meticulousness, instinct and authentic passion. That is why in our Think!s footwear manufacturing facilities, outstandingly qualified and experienced employees craft each shoe by hand in up to 200 steps.
Durable high-quality shoes
Shoes are the centrepiece of any outfit. That is why we at Think! pay particular attention to quality to ensure that our customers can wear our shoes for as long as possible. Our shoes can also be repaired, and when they are finally thrown away at the end of a long footwear life, they leave behind as few harmful substances as possible.
Sustainable certificates & labels
In 2015, Think! was the first footwear manufacturer to be awarded the Austrian Ecolabel; Think! was then awarded the Blue Angel eco-label for the first time in 2017. By now, over 50 Think! designs have been awarded these eco-labels, and their number is increasing from season to season. In 2022, we were voted the winner in the sustainability category in a survey held by the German trade journal "Textilwirtschaft".
Sustainable initiatives
Think!’s pursuit of sustainability goes beyond its manufacturing activities. Think! takes its responsibilities towards people and nature very seriously, and has done so for over 30 years. We support social initiatives such as the sheltered workshop Lebenshilfe Oberösterreich, and we have also been sponsoring beehives in cooperation with local bee conservation projects since 2018.
